March 2, 2019 -

Ruston Leader on Sat. 03/02/2019 - 1:36 am

A Grambling man remained in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on Friday after law enforcement agents recovered approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana and $10,000 in cash at his residence the day before.

Rashade J. Davalie, 27, of 132 Wilson St, #1C, is charged with possession of Schedule I drug — the marijuana — with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of marijuana distribution, three warrants from other jurisdictions and two counts of violating the uniform controlled dangerous substance law allegedly possessing drugs in a drug-free zone.

Davalie’s resident is 706 feet from the Grambling State University campus; the law requires a minimum 2,000 foot threshold for a drug-free zone.

Davalie was taken into custody after receiving the marijuana in a package through the mail,
according to his arrest affidavit. The package was intercepted in Shreveport, then delivered to Davalie by what the affidavit calls “a controlled means.”

Agents with the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Davalie’s residence and found the marijuana and the money, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Stephen William said.

LPNET is a joint task force staffed by the 3rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Ruston Police Department, Grambling Police Department and LPSO.
