Public Records Request

All requests for public records must be made in writing. Accurate contact information for the requesting party is especially critical. Public Records Requests should be tendered to the Office of the District Attorney for the Third Judicial District via:

  1. Hand delivery to 100 West Texas Ave, 2nd Floor, Ruston, LA or 100 East Bayou, 2nd Floor, Farmerville, LA

  2. Mail or commercial carrier to:
    Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office
Laurie James, First Assistant District Attorney
100 West Texas Avenue, Ruston, LA 71270 or
100 East Bayou, 2nd Floor, Farmerville, LA

  3. Facsimile to Laurie James, First Assistant at (318) 251-5103, or email to lwhitten@lincolnparish.org

After receipt of the request, the existence and availability of the record will be determined as well as whether the record is public within the parameters of the Public Records Act.

When copies of public records are requested, responses will be mailed or tendered in person to requesting parties within statutory deadlines after payment in full of any necessary costs for copies.

If the requesting party only seeks to examine the record, access will be provided at one of the addresses listed above.

Questions about public records requests may be directed to Laurie James at (318) 513-6350 or lwhitten@lincolnparish.org.
